"Dan'’s treatments reflect his compassion, kindness and his genuine desire to help people; his enthusiasm for Shiatsu and acupuncture is inspiring. I have found his treatments to be deeply relaxing and nurturing, and always come away feeling more centered, often having found out something new about myself. Shiatsu is an incredible form of bodywork, the effects of which are far-reaching; I highly recommend it to everyone. "

"I first went to see Dan after getting kicked by my pony a year previous. It had caused nerve damage and was causing a great deal of pain and affecting my performance in the show ring. I had acupuncture, cupping therapy and massage over a month which hugely relieved pain in the area I was kicked and also other areas of my body which had been affected. It worked so well the next show I competed at my body was so relaxed I won the championship! That was almost a year ago now and I have had no pain from the injury since and would recommend treatment with Dan to anyone."
Jo Hooker - Head Groom
"Great benefit from initial session. Tremendous sense of "at last someone understands the problem" from an empathic practitioner. Dan is very sympathetic to "needle fear" with acupuncture and gently encourages and inspires confidence. Well worth every penny, I feel confident that I am now addressing a problem of over thirty yers standing."
Joy from Rochford
Firstly, thank you to Mr Dan Thompson for completely changing my life. Sounds extreme, but before I met dan and had treatment I was in a very bad place and in a lot of pain. To cut a long story short, I am pain free (which I never ever thought would happen) relaxed, have a different view on life and PREGNANT! This is one thing me and my partner thought would be a testing time but thanks to dans support and treatment he has allowed me to live and appreciate a happier life and look forward to having a new addition to our family. Thank you is not enough for this chappy, I'm eternally grateful

ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture is the insertion of solid disposable needles into accurate, specific acu-points along the energy vessels to systematically balance and harmonise the flow and functions of the intrinsic energies (chi) of the human body. This is fundamental to the practice of acupuncture in chinese medicine for treatment, disease prevention or maintenance of health. Acupuncture has a very complex theoretical framework based on a NATURE and NURTURE physiological process (the checks and balances within nature and its various movements and processes). Acupuncture is used to promote this natural system. Acupuncture has been used in the Orient for healing for some 3,000 years. In Chinese medicine. Part of the treatment involves taking a detailed case history of the patient about their lifestyle and health issues. The pulse will be taken and the tongue observed so the therapist can build a complete picture of the client and their condition. Needles are then inserted into the appropriate points. The use of Electro -Acupuncture may be used to treat chronic pain syndromes, or in cases where the chi is difficult to stimulate

SHIATSU and BODYWORK
Shiatsu is a traditional Oriental form of Bodywork Therapy that utilises physical manipulation to help harmonises the Mind, Body and Spirit. It merges Western anatomy and physiology knowledge with ancient Oriental medical philosophy and is applied by using various techniques, such as pressure, holding and stretching. If appropriate more dynamic rotations of the joints and stretching the limbs may be needed to ease out stiffness and stimulate the body's fascial net and energetic functions. Shiatsu stimulates the body's own healing process. Chi flows throughout the body in a series of channels called meridians. For many different reasons Qi can stop flowing freely, which can cause signs and symptoms of ill health.
Fascia, Meridians and Acupoints are used to restore vitality, flexibility and organ
function.
Common conditions which may be helped by Shiatsu include:
Musco-skeletal Conditions
Sports Injuries
Postural and structural Corrections
stress
wellbeing
helps aid sleep
Your Shiatsu practitioner will consider your state of health, the symptoms you are experiencing and, depending on your constitution and general energy levels, will use a variety of techniques to improve your energy flow. These may include gentle holding, pressing with palms, thumbs, fingers, elbows, knees and feet on the meridians and, when appropriate, more dynamic rotations and stretches.
CUPPING and MOXA
What is Moxibustion?
Moxibustion comes from the Japanese word for the herb mugwort, mugosa, combined with combustion, or burning. So, moxibustion is the burning of mugwort, also called moxa, which stimulates circulation by warming acupuncture points.
It is a traditional Chinese medicine therapy and is often used in addition to acupuncture to further boost the immune system, manage pain, and treat coldness or dampness lodged in the body.
Moxa aids in warming acupuncture points to stimulate circulation through the points, inducing a smoother flow of blood and qi, or energy flow, in the body. It also prevents cold and dampness settling in the body, which militates against pain such as joint pain and muscle tightness. It can even help turn breech babies.
What is Cupping?
Cupping is a therapy used to dispel stagnant blood and lymph in the tissue and has been recorded as being used as early as 3,000 B.C.
It’s a method of acupressure using glass or plastic cups to create a partial vacuum, suctioning the skin, to draw up the underlying tissues. By gently pulling blood and fluids to the surface, circulation and energy flow are improved.
Cupping is used for various respiratory illnesses such as the common cold, bronchitis, and pneumonia as well as for musculoskeletal complaints of the neck, back, and shoulders. Not only does it promote circulation but it also creates a feeling of relaxation.
